Rattlers Mating - July 2019

On the way back from a hike to Cheat View at Snake Hill Wildlife Management Area this is what we saw.

This video is when we first saw the snakes from a hundred feet away or so. I knew what we were seeing were snakes. But what were they doing? It took a few minutes to figure it out.

In order to continue on the path we had to make a dash around them. Which was a little scary. But the snakes paid no attention to us. They were busy. The second video was taken from farther down the trail.

The third video is from a different angle and there is no glare on the screen. Check out the size of these snakes. At least 6 feet long and as big around as your forearm. They were not paying attention to anything around them.
